Wisdom (112)
Those who take their hands from religion to beautify their world, then God creates more harm for them than this worldly benefit.
This wisdom reflects the profound teachings of Imam Ali (a.s.) and highlights the importance of maintaining a balance between spiritual and worldly pursuits. Loving the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) is not merely a matter of affection but also a commitment to live a life that aligns with their teachings, often characterized by simplicity and humility.
Historically, this saying comes from a time when the Islamic community faced numerous challenges, including divisions and misunderstandings about the true essence of Islam and the status of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). Imam Ali (a.s.) used this wisdom to emphasize that true love for the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) requires one to be ready for a life of poverty, which often signifies detachment from materialistic desires.
Moreover, the wisdom warns against those who abandon their religious obligations in pursuit of worldly gains. It suggests that such individuals may find themselves facing greater difficulties and spiritual losses than the temporary benefits they seek. This serves as a reminder that worldly pleasures are fleeting and can lead to long-term detriment if pursued at the expense of one's faith.
From this wisdom, we learn the importance of embodying the love for the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) in our daily lives. We should not become so engrossed in worldly affairs that we forget our religious duties. Embracing simplicity and humility can lead to spiritual fulfillment and true happiness, aligning our lives with the values of the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.).
