Sermon Sermon : 227

Sermon (227): He said about the one who is afraid of death and who practices asceticism

Indeed, the fear of Allah is the key to guidance and the storehouse of the hereafter (of desires), the cause of freedom from every bondage and release from every destruction. By it the seeker attains the destination and the one fleeing (from hardships) is saved and attains the desired things. Perform (good) deeds while the deeds are rising, it may give benefit. The call is being heard. The situation is calm and the pens (of the scribes) are flowing. Hurry up to actions before age turns you to old age, disease becomes a chain of feet, and death seizes you, because death is the destroyer of your pleasures, the one who makes your desires and your goals far away. It is an unwelcome visitor and an unconquerable rival, and is so bloodthirsty that it cannot be demanded (of bloodshed). His snares bind you, and his destruction surrounds you, and the fruits of his (arrows) are aimed straight at you, and his dominion over you is great, and his persecution of you is constant, and there is little chance that his blows will be empty. It is near that the cloud of death, the darkness of the deadly hardships of death, the suffocation of breath, the agony of death, the darkness of its covering from all sides and its distaste for work and burning will surround you as if it has suddenly fallen upon you, which has silenced the one who secretly talks to you and has scattered your congregation and dispersed your signs. wiped out and made your houses desolate. And made your heirs ready to leave your legacy among certain loved ones who did not benefit you and among those grieving relatives who could not prevent (death) and among those who were trying (relatives) who were not anxious at all. Divide it up. Therefore, it is necessary for you to strive, and prepare for (the journey to the hereafter) and provide for the goods and provide for the Zaad from the destination that provides Zaad. Don't let the world deceive you. Just as they deceived the nations that passed before you and the past people, who drank the milk of this world and took advantage of its neglect and made its abundance (days) perish and its refreshments wither. Their houses have become graves, their wealth has become a waste that falls on their graves, they do not recognize the one who cries for them, they do not care for the one who calls them, and they do not answer the one who calls them. Fear this world for it is treacherous, deceitful and deceitful, giving (and then) taking. She is the one who puts on the clothes and then takes them off. Its comforts do not last forever, its hardships do not end, and its sufferings do not cease. This part of the sermon is among the attributes of the ascetics: They were people who were of the people of the world, but were not (really) of the world. They live in the world as if they are not of the world, their actions are on the things they are familiar with and they hurry to avoid what they are afraid of. Their bodies seem to be circulating in the congregation of the people of the hereafter. They see the people of the world as giving great importance to their physical death and they consider the situation of those persons who are alive but their hearts are dead to be more sad.
