Nehjul Balagah Detailed Explanation Nehjul Balagah Detailed Explanation : 132

Detailed Explanation — Wisdom (132): I wonder at the miser that the poverty he wants to escape from, moves towards it quickly, and the wealth and happiness he seeks is out of his hands. And wonder at him who sees the dead and then forgets death. And wonder at him who sees the first birth and then refuses to be raised again.

This wisdom of Imam Ali (a.s.) reflects deep insight and an understanding of human psychology. It mentions an angel calling out daily, reminding people that life is temporary and that we should prepare for our death. This call urges us to have children to carry on our legacy, yet it also reminds us that this life is destined for destruction.

In a historical context, this wisdom reflects a time when people were chasing worldly wealth and had forgotten about the afterlife. Imam Ali (a.s.) used this wisdom to draw attention to the reality that all worldly possessions are transient.

The phrase 'have children for death' implies that we should raise our offspring in a way that they can uphold our values and legacy. 'Gather for destruction' suggests that we should not accumulate wealth to the extent that we forget our spiritual responsibilities.

The moral and spiritual lesson here is that one must understand the temporality of worldly life and prepare for the afterlife. We must strike a balance in our lives, pursuing worldly gains while also focusing on our spiritual development.

Practically, we should engage in actions that bring us closer to Allah's pleasure and educate our children in the teachings of Islam. This wisdom serves as a reminder that we are transient in this world and should always prepare for the hereafter.
