Detailed Explanation — Wisdom (478): For the Umayyads there is a Marudarwad (ground of respite) in which they race when there is a mutual disagreement between them, then if the Bajus also attack them, they will prevail over them. (Sayyid Radi says that) Marudar wad is on the weight of the active participle and its meaning is to give respite and leisure, and this is a very eloquent and strange word. It is as if the Prophet (peace be upon him) compared the respite in his time to a field in which, if they run to reach the limit, their system will be disrupted.

In Wisdom (478), Imam Ali (a.s.) states that God has not taken a covenant from the ignorant to learn until He has taken a covenant from the knowledgeable that they should not withhold teaching. This saying emphasizes the importance of knowledge and the responsibility of its dissemination.

The historical context of this wisdom highlights the significance of knowledge in a time when ignorance was prevalent. Imam Ali (a.s.) aimed to illuminate the necessity of spreading knowledge during a crucial period in Islamic history.

Key themes include the pursuit of knowledge, the acquisition of knowledge, and its transmission. The Imam's assertion that knowledge is not only for the knowledgeable but also requires teaching underscores that the dissemination of knowledge is a collective responsibility.

The implication here is that if the knowledgeable do not pass on their knowledge, there will be no improvement in the state of the ignorant. This also carries a spiritual lesson that both the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge are forms of worship.

Practical takeaways include the need to strive for knowledge and simultaneously make efforts to share that knowledge with others. This is essential not only for personal development but also for the advancement of society as a whole.
