Detailed Explanation — Wisdom (269): How many people are there who are gradually made worthy of punishment by being given blessings, and how many people are there who are deceived by the veil of Allah. They have been deceived by hearing good words about themselves, and there is no greater trial from Allah than giving respite. Syed Razi says that this word has been passed before but here there is some good and useful addition to it.

In Wisdom (269), Imam Ali (a.s.) outlines two types of people who engage in worldly pursuits. The first type is those who are actively engaged in the world but are distracted from the Hereafter. They fear for their dependents' poverty and remain content in their own hardship, often living their lives for the benefit of others. While this can be seen as a noble endeavor, it may detract from their spiritual journey and accountability in the afterlife.

The second type consists of individuals who work in the world with an eye towards the Hereafter. These individuals manage to attain worldly success without excessive struggle because their intentions are aligned with seeking Allah’s pleasure. Consequently, they become the owners of both worlds, embodying a balance that is highly esteemed in the eyes of Allah. This reflects Imam Ali's message that if we focus on the Hereafter while living in this world, Allah will grant us success in both realms.

A key takeaway from this wisdom is the importance of intention. If one's actions are directed towards pleasing Allah, both worldly and spiritual rewards can be achieved. Imam Ali’s wisdom teaches us that instead of chasing worldly pleasures, we should prioritize our deeds for the success in the Hereafter.

This wisdom also emphasizes that true dignity in the sight of Allah comes from righteous actions and pure intentions. A person who does not seek anything from Allah, yet is granted His mercy, is truly blessed. Thus, this wisdom encourages us to reflect on our actions and to purify our intentions for the sake of Allah.
