Detailed Explanation — Wisdom (37): When Ameerul Momineen (A.S.) was leaving for Syria, he met the landowners of Maqam Anbar, so they became foot soldiers and started running in front of him. He said, "What have you done?" In the Hereafter, suffering misfortune because of it, how debilitating is the toil that results in punishment in the Hereafter, and how beneficial is the relief that results in safety from Hellfire.

This wisdom of Ameerul Momineen (A.S.) was articulated at a time when he was heading towards Syria. The landowners of Maqam Anbar came to greet him by running in front of him as a sign of respect. This incident reflects a cultural practice in the Islamic society of that time, where showing reverence to rulers was common. However, it also raises the question of the purpose and value of such practices.

When the landowners were asked why they behaved in such a manner, they explained that it was their customary way of honoring their leaders. Ameerul Momineen responded by emphasizing that such actions do not benefit the rulers at all; instead, they put themselves through unnecessary hardship in this world and risk misfortune in the Hereafter.

Two key themes emerge from this wisdom: first, individuals should critically assess whether their efforts are genuinely beneficial or merely traditional rituals without real significance. Second, there is a need to adopt forms of respect that lead to true honor and success, especially those that contribute to one's salvation in the Hereafter.

Ameerul Momineen's message also reminds us that prioritizing comfort and avoiding actions that lead to worldly and spiritual harm is essential. This wisdom serves as a reminder that true success lies in aligning our actions with the will of Allah and striving to avoid His punishment.
