Sermon (148): The Occultation of the Proof (peace be upon him)
In Sermon 148, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) sheds light on the occultation of Imam al-Hujjah (peace be upon him) and the situation that follows. This sermon was delivered at a time when people had strayed into paths of misguidance, abandoning the paths of guidance. The Imam emphasizes the importance of patience and advises against haste regarding events that are destined to occur. He warns against showing displeasure at the distance of what 'tomorrow' may bring.
The Imam points out that many people are hasty for things that may ultimately harm them. This teaches us to be cautious in our desires and to wait patiently for what is to come from Allah. The message here is that we should not rush our decisions in life, but rather wait for the right time as ordained by Allah.
Furthermore, the Imam mentions that those from the Ahl al-Bayt who will witness this era of trials will advance with the lamp of guidance. This highlights a spiritual aspect, emphasizing that the light of guidance is always with the Ahl al-Bayt. It teaches us to strengthen our faith and follow the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt.
The Imam also notes that as people stray into misguidance, they become deserving of hardships. This serves as a warning that turning away from the truth can lead to difficulties. This part of the sermon teaches us the importance of remaining steadfast on the path of truth and exercising patience in the face of trials.
Lastly, Imam Ali (peace be upon him) reflects on the time when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) departed from this world, leading some to stray into misguidance. This reminds us to maintain strong beliefs and not allow our faith to waver during times of trial and tribulation.
