Sermon Sermon : 186

Sermon (186): The favors of God Almighty, the state of the dead

O people! I admonish you to fear Allah and praise Him for the blessings He has given you, for the rewards He has bestowed upon you in abundance, and for the favors He has always bestowed upon you. He let you loose. I explain to you that you should remember death and reduce your neglect of it, and why are you lying in neglect of it, which is not oblivious to you, and how do you rely on him (the angel of death) who does not give you a moment of respite. The dead are enough to teach you a lesson. Even though they could not ride themselves and they were taken down to the graves. When they were not able to get down themselves (so they were wiped out) it was as if they had never lived in this world and as if this (home of the Hereafter) had always been their home. The one who made the homeland. They left it desolate and the one they used to fear. (Now) it is not in their power to turn away from evil, nor is it in their power to increase good deeds. They set their hearts on the world, so it deceived them, and if they trusted in it, it turned them away. Complete His blessings upon you. Because the coming "tomorrow" is closer than today, how fast the clocks step within the day and how fast the days move within the months and how fast the months move within the years and how fast the years are within the age.
