Letter (11): Give these instructions to an army sent towards the enemy

When you move towards the enemy or the enemy moves towards you, you should be in front of the mounds or at the foot of the mountain or at the bend of the rivers so that this thing will act as a support and a barrier for you, and the battle is only on one side or (at most) on two sides, and place watchmen on the tops of the mountains and on the high surfaces of the dunes so that the enemy does not move (suddenly) from a place of shock or from a place of satisfaction. The first troop is the news of the army. And every first party receives information from these informers (who go forward and trace) See, avoid being scattered, dismount then dismount together, and march then do so together, and when night falls upon you, gather the spears (around you) and form a circle, and do not taste sleep except to sleep and take a half-nap.
