45 When the news reached Hazrat that the governor of Basra, Uthman Ibn Hanif, had been invited to a meal by the people there and that he had participated in it, he wrote to him.. O Ibn Hanif! I have been informed that one of the young men of Basra invited you to eat and you arrived in a hurry, that colorful and delicious food was being brought to you in a selection, and big bowls were being moved towards you. If there is any doubt about it, leave it and eat it from the food which you are sure to have obtained in a pure and pure way.. You should know that every muqtadi has a leader whom he follows and whose light he gains knowledge from. Look at the condition of your imam. He is satisfied with two tattered old sheets and two loaves of food. I believe that this is not enough for you. He has not accumulated any of his possessions, nor has he given them in exchange for the clothes (which he wears). We have provided another old cloth. Verily, a Fadak was in our hands by taking it under the shade of this sky, and resin dripped from the mouths of some people on it, and the other party did not care about its departure, and Allah is the best judge. Shall I take Fadak or something other than Fadak? The traces will be erased and its news will disappear. It is such a pit that even if its width is widened and the hands of the gourkan keep it wide, whenever stones and pebbles narrow it and its cracks are closed by the constant pouring of mud. My focus is only on that I do not let myself be controlled by the piety of God so that on the day when fear will exceed the limit, he will be satisfied and If I wanted, I could provide sources of pure honey, fine wheat and silken cloths. But where can it be that desires overwhelm me. And greed invites me to choose good food, while in Hijaz and Yamama there are people who cannot afford even a loaf of bread and have never had the fortune to eat their fill. Shall I be freed? In spite of the fact that I am surrounded by a hungry stomach and a thirsty liver, or shall I be like the one who said, "What is your disease is that you eat long with a full stomach, and there are some livers around you that are longing for dry skin? Shall I be engrossed in the fact that I am called Amirul Momineen, peace be upon him? Don't be an example for them in bad moods. I was not born to worry about good food. Like a closed cow that only cares about its fodder or like an open animal whose job is to kill. He fills his stomach with grass and is oblivious to what he aims at. Am I left unbound to pull at the ropes of error and walk with my face lifted in the places of wandering?. I understand that some of you will come and say that if this is the diet of Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), then his weakness and weakness would have made him sit down from running with rivals and hitting with the brave. But remember that the wood of a forest tree is strong. By God, if all the Arabs want to fight me together, I will leave the field and not show my back.. O world, leave me behind, your garden is on your shoulder. I have escaped from your clutches, I am out of your snares, and I have stopped my steps from growing into your slippery places. Where are the people whom you have deceived with the words of games and entertainment, where are the groups that you have seduced with your decorations? Had there been a statue and a standing structure, I would have issued the decrees of Allah on you that you have deceived the servants by giving them hope, you have thrown the nations into pits (of destruction), and you have handed over the crown princes to destruction, and brought you to the pier of hardships, from which you will not descend to be watered after, nor will you turn back after being watered. He who steps on your waves will surely slip. He who rides your waves will surely drown and he who avoids your snares will be successful. He who escapes from you does not care. Even if the world becomes narrow for him, the world is like a day that wants to end. So let me be taken away, I swear by Allah, an oath in which I do not exclude anything except the will of Allah, that I will correct my soul, so that it will be happy to find a piece of bread in its food and be content with only salt with it, and I will empty the sleep of my eyes like a spring whose water has settled. In the same way Ali also eats the food next to him and just sleeps, his eyes will be without light.. Blessed is the person who has fulfilled the duties of Allah. He has been patient in hardships and tribulations. Keep your eyes awake at night and when sleep prevails, make a pillow and fight on the ground with those whose eyes are awake from the fear of doom, whose faces are separated from children and whose lips are silent in remembrance of God. And surely Allah's group is going to die. O Ibn Hanif! Fear Allah and be content with your own bread, so that you may be saved from the fire of Hell..
