Sermon Sermon : 143

Sermon (143): On the World's Treatment of the People of the World and the Explanation of Innovation and Sunnah

O people! You are the target of death's arrows in this world (where) there is a sting with every sip and a choking snare in every morsel. Where you do not get one blessing until another blessing is separated, and whoever among you gains life does not take a step in one day of life until one day is reduced from his term of life, and no other sustenance is added to his food until the first sustenance is finished, and until one mark is erased, another mark does not appear, and until something new becomes old and worn, another new thing is not obtained, and until the cut crop falls, a new crop does not stand. Forefathers have passed away, and we are their branches. When the root is gone, where can the branches remain? A part of this sermon is: No innovation comes into existence except that because of it, the Sunnah has to be abandoned. Avoid the innovators. Remain firm on the bright path. Old things are good, and (in religion) newly created things are the worst.
