Sermon (75): Regarding Banu Umayyah
Banu Umayyah give me the inheritance of Muhammad (peace be upon him) little by little. By Allah! If I remain alive, I will shake them off like a butcher shakes dust from a piece of meat covered in soil.
Allama Razi says that in one narration, instead of 'al-wudham al-turbah' (meat piece covered in soil), 'al-turab al-wudhmah' (soil that has filled the meat piece) has come, meaning the attribute and the described have been interchanged. And by 'lifu qunni', the Imam means that they give me little by little, like when a she-camel is milked a little, and then the teats are put to the mouth of its young so that it becomes ready to be milked. And 'wudham' is the plural of 'wudhmah', which means entrails or a piece of liver that has fallen in soil, and then the soil is shaken from it.
