Letter (34): Names of Muhammad Ibn Abi Bakr

On this occasion, when he came to know that he was upset because of his removal from the government of Egypt and the appointment of Malik Ishtar, and then he died on the way before reaching Egypt, he wrote to Muhammad. I have been informed that you are tired of sending Ishtar in your place, so the fact is that I did not make this change because I found you weak and lax in your work. And if I had removed you from the position of government that was in your hand, I would not have entrusted you to a place where you would have less trouble and you would like it more. Undoubtedly, the person whom I made the guardian of Egypt and was harsh to the enemies, may God have mercy on him. Invite and ask Allah for help as much as possible. God willing
