Wisdom (322) presents a significant dialogue by Imam Ali (a.s.) that took place while he was returning from the Battle of Siffin and passing through the tribe of Shabam. At this moment, he heard the cries of women mourning the losses from Siffin. This incident highlights the impact of war on the general populace, especially on women and children. Imam Ali (a.s.) posed a question to Harb ibn Shurjeel Shabami, asking why he did not prevent these women from their lamentation. This question underscores a moral and social responsibility.
In this wisdom, Imam Ali (a.s.) also instructed Harb to turn back instead of accompanying him on foot. This statement illuminates the fact that a believer's status should always be elevated, and those who accompany him should also be mindful of their standing. Imam Ali (a.s.) emphasized that walking alongside individuals of a lower status could lead to humiliation for a believer.
This wisdom teaches us that we must always be aware of our dignity and status and understand our responsibilities. If we observe wrongdoing in our community or society, we should raise our voices against it and encourage others to do the same. This is not only our moral obligation but also essential for our spiritual growth.
