Sermon Sermon : 102

Sermon (102): The State of People Before the Mission

According to another narration, this sermon has been recorded earlier: When Allah sent Muhammad (peace be upon him), there was no reader of (heavenly) books among the Arabs, nor any claimant of prophethood and revelation. He fought his opponents with those who obeyed. While he was leading those people to salvation and advancing for their guidance before death reached them. When someone tired and exhausted would stop and become weak and helpless, he would stand over him (on his head) and take him to his intended destination. Except that someone might be in such a destroyed state that there is not even a particle of goodness in him. Until he showed them the destination of salvation and took them to their status. So their mill began to turn, and their spear's bend straightened. By Allah, I was also among those who drove them, until they completely retreated and were bound in their bonds. During this, I neither showed weakness nor cowardice, nor committed any kind of treachery, nor did weakness come to me. By Allah! I will (still) tear falsehood and extract truth from its side.
