Sermon (11): Teaching Battle Etiquette to Muhammad ibn al‑Hanafiyyah

When he handed the battle standard to his son Muhammad ibn al‑Hanafiyyah at Jamal, he instructed him: even if the mountains move from their places, do not move from yours. Clench your teeth, loan your skull to Allah, plant your feet firmly in the ground, keep your gaze on the rear ranks of the army, and close your eyes to the enemy’s numbers and strength. He emphasises that true help comes only from Allah.
