Sermon Sermon : 232

Sermon (232): He said while bathing the Prophet ﷺ

While giving bath and shroud to the Messenger of Allah, he said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you. With his passing away, the chain of prophethood, divine decrees and heavenly news was interrupted which was not interrupted by the death of any other (prophet). (You) singled out your Ahl al-Bayt in this calamity. You even consoled others with their sorrows and made (this grief) public that all people share your (mourning) equally. If you had not commanded patience and refrained from wailing and wailing, We would have exhausted the store of tears in your sorrow, and this pain would not have been an acceptable remedy, and it would not have left grief and sorrow with it (yet this) crying and sorrow would have been less compared to your distress. But death is something that cannot be turned back or removed. My parents are devoted to you. Remember us also to our Lord. And will take care of us.
