Sermon Sermon : 49

Sermon (49): On the Greatness of Allah

All praise is for that Allah who has descended into the depths of hidden things. The signs of His being manifest and evident indicate His existence. Although He is not visible to the seeing eye, yet the non-seeing eye cannot deny Him, and whoever has acknowledged Him, his heart cannot grasp His reality. He is so high and exalted that nothing can be higher than Him, and so near that nothing can be nearer than Him, and His height has not distanced Him from the creatures, nor has His nearness brought Him to the level of others, making them equal to Him. He has not informed the intellects of the limits of His attributes, nor has He placed veils before them to acquire knowledge in the necessary amount. He is such a being that the signs of His existence testify to Him in such a way that even the heart of one who denies (with the tongue) cannot remain without acknowledgment. Allah is far above and beyond the words of those who compare Him to creatures and deny His existence.
