Sermon (93): On the State of People at the Time of the Mission and the Prophet's Efforts in Preaching
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent at a time when people were lost in the state of bewilderment and distress, and were floundering in seditions. Desires had led them astray, and pride had misled them, and full ignorance had taken away their intellects, and they were bewildered and distressed due to the instability of conditions and the calamities of ignorance. So the Prophet fulfilled his full right of explaining to them, remained firm on the straight path himself, and continued calling them to wisdom and knowledge and good advice.
