Sermon Sermon : 98

Sermon (98): On the Greatness of the Ahl al-Bayt

Praise and extolment are for that Allah Who has spread His (skirt of) grace among creatures and extended His hand of generosity. We praise Him in all matters and seek help from Him in observing His rights. And we bear witness that there is no deity except Him, and Muhammad is His servant and messenger, whom Allah sent to clearly announce His command and bring His remembrance to the tongue. He delivered it with trustworthiness and departed from the world while remaining firm on the straight path, and left among us that banner of truth: whoever goes ahead of it will leave (the religion), and whoever stays behind it will be destroyed, and whoever clings to it will remain with truth. The one who guides toward this banner is he who does not rush in speaking and (to think completely) delays in his steps. And when he stands up with some matter, then he is swift. And when you bow your necks before him and (in view of his greatness and majesty) begin to point fingers toward him, death will come to him and take him, and then you will remain (waiting) as long as Allah wills, until Allah manifests that person who will gather you in one place and bind you together. Do not covet what is not going to happen. And do not despair from the reversed situation, and it is very possible that one foot of the reversed situation has come loose and the other foot is firm, and then there may be such a situation that both feet become firm. You should know that the Family of Muhammad are like the stars of the sky. When one sets, another rises. It is as if Allah's blessings have been completed upon you, and what you were hoping for, Allah has shown you.
