Letter (54): Which Umar sent to Talha and Zubair in the hands of Ibn Hussain al-Khuza'i

This letter has been mentioned by Abu Ja'far al-Sakafi in his book Al-Maqam, which is among the virtues of Amir al-Mu'minin, peace be upon him. No matter how much you hide it, but you both know that I did not move towards the people. Rather, they came towards me. I did not raise my hand to take the pledge of allegiance, but they themselves pledged the pledge of allegiance on my hand, and both of you are also among the people who came forward towards me. There was no pledge of allegiance out of (fear of) domination and power, nor was it due to the greed of wealth and wealth. Now if both of you had pledged allegiance with your own consent, then turn away from it (breaking the covenant) and repent quickly in the presence of Allah, and if the pledge of allegiance was with distaste, let him show obedience. And by concealing your disobedience, you have established evidence for me against you. And 2# I swear by my life that you were not more worthy than the other emigrants in covering up your heart condition and hiding it, and rejecting it before pledging allegiance, there was more room for you than now after the confession. Try to get out of it, and you have shown the idea that I have killed Uthman. Between us and you, those people of Madinah who are shunned from you and us are there to testify. After that, whoever has participated will be held responsible for as much as he has participated. Dear Sir! Stop with this attitude. Because right now shame and shame are in front of both of you, but after that, this shame The fire (of hell) will gather with Waar. Peace be upon you.
