Sermon (104): On the Preciousness of Islamic Shariah
All praise is to Allah, Who established the Shariah of Islam and made its laws easy for those who descend on its (source of) guidance, and gave its pillars victory and elevation over the opponent. So for whoever is attached to it, there is security; for whoever enters it, there is peace and reconciliation; for whoever speaks of it, there is proof; for whoever takes its help to face, it is made a witness; and for whoever seeks light from it, there is light; for the understanding and thinking one, there is understanding and wisdom; for the contemplative, there is (bright) sign; for the one with intention, there is insight; for the one who accepts advice, there is lesson; for the one who affirms, there is salvation; for the one who trusts, there is tranquility; for the one who entrusts everything to it, there is comfort; for the patient, it is made a shield. It is the most luminous among all straight paths and the clearest among all beliefs. Its standard is high, its paths are brilliant, and its lamp is bright. Its field (of action) is dignified, and its purpose and goal are lofty. In its field is the gathering of swift horses. Advancing toward it is desired and beloved. Its riders are honorable, and its path is (the affirmation of) Allah and the Messenger, and good deeds are (the path's) signs. The world is the field of horse racing, and death is the limit of arrival, and the Day of Resurrection is the place of gathering of horses, and Paradise is the reward of advancement. This part of the sermon is about the Prophet: Until he kindled flames for the seeker of light and lit bright signs for the one who stops the mount (having lost the way). (O Allah!) He is the trustee of Your trust and Your (appointed) witness on the Day of Resurrection. He is Your sent Prophet and truthful Messenger, who is (a) blessing and mercy (for the world). (O Allah!) Give them their share from Your justice, and give them double reward of good deeds from Your grace. (O Allah!) Give their building superiority over all builders' buildings, and host them with their honor and dignity at Your place, and give their status elevation and honor, and give them high rank and grant blessing and excellence, and gather us in their group in such a way that we are neither degraded and disgraced, nor regretful and distressed, nor turned away from truth, nor covenant-breakers, nor misguided, nor misguiding, nor deceived. The commentator says: Although this speech has passed earlier, we have repeated it because there is some difference in the words of both narrations. A part of this sermon is in which he addressed his companions: You reached such a status by the grace and favor of your Allah that your slave girls also began to be considered honorable, and good treatment also began to be done with your neighbors. And those people also began to honor you on whom you had no superiority, nor had you done any favor to them. And those people also began to fear you who had no fear of your attack, nor did you have any control over them. But now you see that Allah's covenants are being broken, and you do not become angry. Although the breaking of the customs and traditions established by your forefathers makes your vein of honor move. Although until now Allah's matters were presented before you, and their solution was through you, and everything turned toward you. But you have handed over your place to the oppressors, and given your reins to them, and entrusted Allah's matters to them, who act on doubts and walk on carnal desires. By Allah! If they scatter you under every star, Allah will still gather you on that day, which will be a very bad day for them.
