Sermon (128): When Abu Dharr Was Exiled to Rabdhah, He Addressed Him and Said
O Abu Dharr! You have become angry for Allah, so then keep hope from the One for whose sake all this grief and anger is. These people have fear from you regarding their world, and you have fear from them regarding your religion. So leave that thing for which they have fear from you in their hands, and take that thing for which you have fear from them and flee from them. That thing from which you are depriving them, if only they understood how much they need it, and that thing which they have prevented you from, you are very free from it, and soon you will know who will remain in benefit tomorrow and who will have more enviers. If this sky and earth were closed on a servant and he feared Allah, He would open the paths of earth and sky for him. You should only be interested in truth and should only fear falsehood. If you accepted their world, they would begin to love you, and if you appointed any share for yourself in it, they would become satisfied with you.
