Sermon (133): When Mughirah ibn Akhnas Wanted to Speak in Support of Uthman, He Said

There was some discussion between me and Uthman ibn Affan, so Mughirah ibn Akhnas said to Uthman: I will settle on your behalf. On this, the Imam said to Mughirah: O son of the cursed one without offspring, and fruit of a tree that has neither root nor branch, what will you settle with me? By Allah, whoever has such a helper as you, Allah does not give him victory and elevation, and whoever has such a supporter as you (cannot stand) on his feet. Stay away from us. May Allah keep your destination far, and then do whatever you can, and if you show any mercy to me, may Allah not have mercy on you.
