Sermon (147): He Said as a Will Before Death

Before dying, he said: O people! Every person is going to face that thing from which he has taken the path of escape, and where the journey of life pulls and takes, that is the destination and end of life. Fleeing from death is gaining it. I have spent so much in searching for the hidden secrets of this death, but the Divine will remained that its (details) should not be revealed. Where is reaching its destination? It is a hidden knowledge. So yes, my will is that you do not make any partner for Allah, and do not waste and destroy the Sunnah of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). Keep these two pillars standing and firm, and keep these two lamps lit. As long as you do not become scattered and dispersed, no evil will come to you. Every person among you should bear his burden according to his capacity. The burden of those who do not know has also been kept light (because) Allah is Merciful, religion is straight (in which there is no confusion), and the Prophet is knowledgeable and wise. I was your companion yesterday, and today I have become a lesson for you, and tomorrow I will leave you. May Allah grant forgiveness to me and you. If feet remain firm on this slippery place, then good, and if the firmness of feet is uprooted, then we were also in the shade of those (dense) branches, the passages of wind, and the shadows of overcast clouds (but) its layers of gathered leaves scattered, and the marks of wind were erased. I was your neighbor, that my body remained in your neighborhood for a few days, and after my death, you will find me as a lifeless body that stopped after moving and became silent after speaking, so that my this stillness and rest, and the closing of eyes, and the becoming senseless and motionless of hands and feet may advise you. For those who take lessons, this (scene) is more admonishing and lesson-giving than eloquent words and things that enter the ears. I am leaving you in such a way as a person who is waiting for (someone's) meeting. Tomorrow you will remember my this era, and my intentions will become clear before you, and from my place becoming empty and others coming to this position, you will recognize my value and status.
