Sermon Sermon : 44

Sermon (44): When Misqalah ibn Hubayrah al-Shaybani Fled to Mu'awiyah

Misqalah ibn Hubayrah al-Shaybani fled to Mu'awiyah because he had bought some captives of Banu Najiyah from one of the Commander of the Faithful's agents. When the Commander of the Faithful demanded the price from him, he went to Syria treacherously. On this he said: May Allah do evil to Misqalah. He did the work of the noble, but fled like slaves. He closed the mouth of the praiser before he could speak, and silenced the describer before he could present his action according to his words. If he had stayed, we would have taken from him as much as was possible for him, and waited for the rest until his wealth increased.
