Sermon Sermon : 31

Sermon (31): What He Said to Ibn 'Abbas When He Sent Him to Zubair Before the Battle of Jamal

Do not meet Talha. If you meet him, you will find him like a rebellious bull whose horns are turned toward his ears. He rides a stubborn mount and then says it is a tamed mount. Rather, meet Zubair because he is gentle-natured, and say to him: Your cousin brother has said that in the Hijaz you maintained acquaintance with me, but here in Iraq you have become a complete stranger. What is the reason for this change? The commentator notes that the last phrase of this speech, 'fama 'adama bada' (what is the reason for this change), was first heard from his tongue.
