Sermon (72): When People Intended to Pledge Allegiance to Uthman

You know that I have more right to the caliphate than others. By Allah! As long as the affairs of Muslims remain organized and only my person remains the target of oppression and injustice, I will remain silent. So that I may seek reward and recompense from Allah (for this patience) and reject that adornment and decoration on which you are engrossed.
